Description / Overview: New Modified Roof: complex commercial roofing construction consisting of 267,500 square feet of Soprema Modified Bituminous Roofing Membranes and PVC Roofing Membranes over 150 tons of roof trusses and 55,287 feet or 10.5 miles of steel roof framing and concrete decks the total length of the arena. The Roof was completed with a Fibertite color logo across the top of the dome.
The new Amway Center is a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment arena in Orlando, Florida. It currently is home to the Orlando Magic, and capable of hosting events of local, regional and national importance.
This commercial roofing project required the use of high percentages of M/WBE firms as well as detailed coordination for Owner Controlled Insurance Program and third party safety reporting and monitoring.
Products Used: Fibertite and Soprema Roofing System 20 yr NDL warranty.
Project Team: The Amway Arena project team included Project Manager (Richard Mitchell), Superintendent (Keith McStoots) , Safety Manager (Javier Sosa), Estimator (Ehron Elkins), Sales (Craig Dallas and a crew of 70 which consisted of roofers and laborers.
